What is Osteopathy?

An Osteopath is a professionally trained practitioner who can treat many conditions throughout the body, although we are often considered ‘back specialists’. Osteopaths believe in a holistic approach and aim to create structural balance throughout the whole body so that it can function well.

Osteopaths assess and treat people of a variety of ages from the elderly to the very young and from pregnant women to sports people, and can offer treatment for conditions such as:

  • Muscle strains
  • Disc injuries
  • Joint restrictions
  • Postural related problems
  • Headaches
  • General stiffness and tension.
